Job Summary:

The R&D Specialist – Technical plays a key role in ensuring product quality, innovation, and process excellence across all brands under The Moment Group. This role is responsible for recipe development, process validation, value engineering, and effective product launches, supporting TMG's commitment to delivering gold-standard consistency and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:1. Product and Process Improvement

  • Drive recipe and process enhancements for product betterment and innovation.

  • Collaborate closely with R&D Chefs and Executive Chefs to execute brand-aligned development initiatives.

  • Conduct process and recipe validations for existing products to ensure consistency and quality.

  • Lead and implement value engineering and cost-efficiency efforts without compromising product integrity.

  • Monitor the effectiveness and sustainability of implemented betterment initiatives.

  • Document all relevant findings, adjustments, and iterations during development for accurate reference and future use.

2. Test Kitchen Operations & Data Management

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the test kitchen in compliance with TMG's Food Safety and Sanitation (FSS) standards.

  • Manage inventory of ingredients, equipment, and tools, including labeling, stock tracking, and replenishment.

  • Prepare monthly reports on inventory, kitchen expenses, and equipment status.

  • Ensure proper documentation of purchases, receipts, and proof of transactions for fiscal accountability.

  • Oversee the use and maintenance of test kitchen equipment and provide guidance to junior team members.

3. Product Launch and Commercialization

  • Translate new product development into scalable, commercial-ready outputs.

  • Document new product launches, improvements, and quality standards aligned with brand and marketing strategies.

  • Complete all commercial documentation required for launches.

  • Facilitate smooth technology transfers to the Central Kitchen and Operations teams.

  • Validate and test new products prior to launch to uphold TMG quality standards.

Performance Indicators:

  • Timely and complete documentation of all R&D initiatives.

  • Successful execution of product and process validations.

  • Accurate product launch documentation and transfer of knowledge to Central Kitchen and Ops teams.

  • Maintained cleanliness and FSS compliance in the test kitchen.

  • Effective inventory management and reporting.

  • Measurable improvements in cost efficiency and product/process performance through value engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Culinary Science, or a related field preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience in food R&D, kitchen operations, or technical food process development.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.

  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen equipment maintenance.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite tools.
