We're looking for a skilled and dependable Head Cook / Team Leader to oversee daily kitchen operations in our cafe and restaurant at Greenhills Mall. This role is ideal for experienced cooks who can confidently lead the line, ensure consistent food quality, and support smooth kitchen workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure dishes meet quality standards
- Prepare and cook menu items consistently, especially during busy service hours
- Guide and support line cooks, commis, and prep staff during service
- Coordinate timing, plating, and order accuracy
- Assist with prep work, portioning, and ensuring recipe consistency
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and proper food safety practices
- Help monitor inventory, manage supplies, and support basic stock rotation
- Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team and management
Qualifications
- Willing to work full-time on-site at Greenhills Mall, San Juan
- 3–4 years of experience as a Line Cook or in a similar kitchen role
- Strong hot kitchen skills (sautéing, grilling, pan-frying, roasting, sauces, etc.)
- Experience with Western or café-style cuisine (Italian, American, French is a plus)
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and consistent in execution
- Able to lead a small kitchen team and maintain a positive, cooperative environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple orders
- Knowledgeable in kitchen sanitation, safety, and equipment use
- Organized, efficient, and proactive in daily operations
