We are seeking a talented and motivated Offshore Architect and Planning Lead to join our client's dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional who thrives on autonomy, responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact within a close-knit construction company.

Responsibilities:

Feasibility

  • Interpret and assess local planning schemes, zoning overlays, and council requirements.
  • Conduct site analysis and due diligence to determine project feasibility.
  • Produce assessments of construction feasibility of plans against zoning / planning rules and regulations.

Authorisation

  • Prepare and lodge planning permit applications with relevant councils.
  • Liaise with planning officers and stakeholders to support approvals.
  • Working in conjunction with Building Inspectors, prepare and submit building permit documentation

Design

  • Work with the sales team to develop architectural drawings in line with site constraints, legislation and regulatory frameworks (National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, Victorian Planning Provisions (VPP)
  • Liaise with clients to revise architectural drawings
  • Coordinate with other stakeholders as required (e.g. engineers, surveyors, energy raters, sales and project management) to integrate all design requirements.
  • Maintain product template library to ensure delivery efficiency.
  • Manage effective workflow delivery in accordance with SLAs to ensure effective pipeline management.

Skills / Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in residential design and construction.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian, preferably Victorian planning system and local council requirements.
  • Proficiency in applying the NCC, Building Code of Australia (BCA), and Australian Standards.
  • High proficiency in design and documentation software utilising Revit
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to call clients and other stakeholders to push the pace on projects in the design stage.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
