Mechanical (HVAC) Takeoff Specialist (Remote)

EOS Mechanical is a Chicago-based commercial HVAC contractor known for precision, innovation, and reliability. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team remotely and assist with takeoff services that support our estimating and operations teams. Note: HVAC or construction experience is a plus, but not required. However, preference will be given to candidates with an engineering background and demonstrated experience in blueprint and specification reading.

Responsibilities

Review architectural and mechanical drawings (PDF or CAD format). Count and classify mechanical elements such as ductwork, vents, and piping components. Follow internal checklists and templates to ensure consistency. Enter takeoff data into spreadsheets or estimating software. Communicate progress and flag inconsistencies or questions. Maintain accuracy across multiple drawing sets or project phases.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related technical field (fresh graduates welcome).

Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.

Exceptional attention to detail and consistency. Ability to follow step-by-step instructions with minimal supervision.

Comfortable with reading technical documents and diagrams (training provided). Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Reliable internet and computer setup.

Availability during some overlap with U.S. Central Time (at least 3 hours per day).
