Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare sushi rice, fresh fish, and other ingredients following proper techniques and recipes.
  • Create sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and specialty dishes with consistency and quality.
  • Ensure all food items meet portion, taste, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi bar and workstations.
  • Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients, ensuring freshness and proper storage.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Assist in menu development by contributing ideas for new sushi items or specials.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.
  • Deliver excellent customer service when interacting directly with guests at the sushi bar (if applicable).
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience as a Sushi Cook, Sushi Chef, or in Japanese cuisine preparation.
  • Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife handling, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and consistency.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
