SERVER / FOOD HANDLER

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Service and Interaction

  • Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor upon arrival.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen or bar.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring proper presentation.
  • Check in with guests during the meal to ensure satisfaction and attend to any additional needs.

2. Menu Knowledge and Recommendations

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special dietary restrictions.
  • Provide recommendations to guests regarding food and beverage choices, including daily specials or promotions.
  • Answer questions about the menu, ingredients, and preparation methods, and accommodate special requests.

3. Order Accuracy and Delivery

  • Ensure all orders are accurate before delivery to guests, confirming orders with the kitchen and ensuring they match guest requests.
  • Deliver orders to guests in a timely and efficient manner while ensuring accuracy in food and beverage selections.
  • Manage multiple tables and ensure timely service for each guest without compromising quality.

4. Collaboration with Team Members

  • Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless communication and timely order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with other servers to support guests and manage busy periods effectively.
  • Assist with clearing tables, resetting dining areas, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area.

5. Cash Handling and Payments

  • Accurately process guest checks, handle cash and credit card transactions, and provide guests with receipts.
  • Ensure that payment transactions are processed smoothly and efficiently.
  • Collect payment and provide correct change when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a high school degree, or at least 2 years of experience in a food and beverage role.
  • Previous experience in the food and beverage or hospitality industry is an advantage.

Core Competencies

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills to accurately process guest orders and payments.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a commitment to providing excellent service.
