East Asia Laboratories Inc. is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage purchasing activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves handling both local and international sourcing, including import and export transactions, while maintaining cost efficiency and timely delivery. The successful candidate must be highly knowledgeable in government permits and licensing processes relevant to pharmaceuticals and raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle procurement of raw materials, packaging, equipment, and services from local and international suppliers
  • Manage import and export transactions, ensuring compliance with customs regulations

Process and secure permits/licenses from government agencies including:

  • FDA (Food and Drug Administration)
  • Department of Agriculture (DA)
  • Other regulatory bodies as required
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to ensure timely clearance and delivery of shipments
  • Evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and recommend cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare regular reports for management review
  • Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, Production, QA, Finance) to align procurement with operational needs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (pharmaceutical/chemical industry experience is an advantage)
  • Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, customs regulations, FDA licensing, DA permits, and related government processes
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with ERP systems
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
