Position: PACKING HEAD

Job Summary:

The Packing Head is responsible for overseeing all packing operations, ensuring adherence to food safety standards, and supervising the packing team. This role involves managing workflow in the packing and cooling areas, ensuring quality and efficiency in the packing process, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

• Supervise and coordinate daily packing operations.
• Ensure proper use and cleanliness of packing materials and tools before and after use.
• Confirm that only quality and standard products are packed.
• Ensure packing equipment is in proper working condition.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the packing area.
• Oversee the correct and accurate labeling of all packed items.

Cooling Area Monitoring

• Monitor cooling room activities and ensure proper handling and storage of products.
• Make sure products are cooled and packed within the designated time frame.

Food Safety & Sanitation

• Ensure all packed products are stored for less than 2 hours before dispatch or further handling.
• Prevent any foreign objects from contaminating food items.
• Confirm cooked items reach the required internal temperature (at least 80°F) before packing.
• Enforce the use of gloves by staff during the packing process.
• Promote and enforce "Clean As You Go" (CLAYGO) practices.
• Ensure personnel hygiene, uniform compliance, and handwashing protocols are strictly followed.

Workplace Safety

• Ensure all electrical outlets are kept dry and safe for use.
• Maintain dry and hazard-free flooring in the packing and cooling areas.

Administrative Duties

• Review daily production outputs and packing performance.
• Record all transactions and activities in the packing area.
• Assess and determine production needs for the following day.
• Prepare and submit material requests for upcoming packing operations.
• Ensure all electrical devices in the packing area are unplugged and safely shut down after operations.

Qualifications:

• College level (preferably in Food Technology, Hospitality Management, or a related field)

• Experience in food packing operations or a supervisory role in a food production setting is an advantage

• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards

• Ability to oversee and train staff in proper packing procedures and SOP compliance

• Excellent attention to detail to ensure correct labeling, storage, and product quality

• Strong organizational and time-management skills to monitor cooling areas and production schedules

• Knowledge of proper handling and maintenance of packing materials, tools, and equipment

• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Willing to be assigned at PACE VALLEY SUDLON LAHUG, CEBU CITY
