Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration (Non-negotiable).
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) Administration (Non-negotiable).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in diagnosing and resolving database performance and reliability issues.

Good to Have:

  • Experience with database virtualization or containerization technologies.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and big data concepts.
  • Exposure to other database platforms (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Proficiency in database monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio).
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data analytics.

Job Description

Role Overview:

The Database Administrator (Oracle & MSSQL) is responsible for installing, maintaining, and optimizing database environments to ensure performance, reliability, and security in line with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain complex Oracle and MSSQL databases.
  • Performance & Security: Ensure uptime, performance tuning, and compliance with security and SLA standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide support for applications, infrastructure, and data center operations involving database systems.
  • Upgrades & Maintenance: Manage product updates, vendor patches, and routine system maintenance.
  • Capacity Management: Monitor database usage, analyze performance trends, and forecast resource needs.
  • Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance database efficiency.
  • Documentation & Backup: Maintain accurate database documentation and perform regular system backups.
  • Change & Configuration Management: Implement changes following best practices and ensure configuration consistency.
  • Incident Resolution: Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring database issues.
