Training and Development Officer

Job Summary
The HR Training and Development Officer is responsible for identifying training needs, developing effective training programs, and implementing initiatives to enhance employee skills, productivity, and engagement. This role ensures that all staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge and competencies to perform effectively and to support the company's goals for growth and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Training Needs Analysis
· Assess and identify individual and organizational training needs through job analysis, performance appraisals, and consultations with managers.
· Develop training matrices and annual training plans aligned with business objectives.
2. Training Program Development
· Design, organize, and deliver in-house training programs, workshops, and seminars.
· Source, evaluate, and coordinate with external training providers and consultants when necessary.
· Prepare training materials, manuals, and evaluation tools.
3. Implementation and Coordination
· Schedule and facilitate training sessions, orientations, and development programs.
· Ensure smooth logistics—venue, materials, attendance, documentation, and reporting.
· Monitor and ensure employee participation and engagement.
4. Evaluation and Reporting
· Evaluate training effectiveness through post-training assessments, surveys, and performance tracking.
· Prepare regular reports on training outcomes, employee development progress, and return on training investment (ROI).
5. Employee Development and Career Progression
· Support succession planning, competency mapping, and career development initiatives.
· Assist in developing mentorship, coaching, and leadership programs.
· Encourage a learning culture and continuous professional development within the organization.
6. Compliance and Record Management
· Maintain accurate records of training attendance, certificates, and development plans.
· Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies regarding employee training.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
· At least 2–4 years of relevant experience in HR training, learning, and development.
· Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and performance evaluation.
· Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
· Proficient in MS Office applications and learning management systems (LMS) is an advantage.
· Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple training programs simultaneously.
