HR and Administrative Supervisor

The HR and Admin Supervisor will lead the Human Resources Department and oversee all HR and administrative functions within the school, with a particular focus on addressing the specialized staffing and operational requirements of a special education environment. This role ensures the effective implementation of HR systems, strict compliance with relevant labor laws and regulatory requirements, and the promotion of an inclusive, collaborative, and values-driven workplace culture.
Working closely with the academic team and school leadership, the HR and Admin Supervisor aligns human resource strategies with the institution's mission, vision, and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with labor laws and data privacy regulations.
- Draft, review, and disseminate HR-related communications, including internal memos, advisories, and policy updates.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Education (DepEd), and other regulatory agencies.
- Oversee employee relations by addressing workplace concerns, conducting initial fact-finding investigations, and escalating issues to senior management as needed.
- Manage the employee lifecycle process, including onboarding, probationary evaluations, contract renewals, and offboarding.
- Supervise daily operations of administrative and support staff, ensuring alignment with school policies and operational efficiency.
- Review and verify payroll-related documents, such as attendance records, leave forms, and timesheets, prior to submission to the Finance/Payroll Department.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies that foster a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
- Identify training and development needs for both academic and administrative staff and coordinate appropriate learning and professional development initiatives.
- Facilitate the onboarding and orientation process to ensure smooth assimilation of new hires into the school community.
- Collaborate with parents, therapists, and educators to monitor and support student development and progress.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student interventions and academic performance in coordination with relevant teams.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for both students and staff.
- Support the preparation of instructional materials and assist in optimizing the physical and operational classroom setup.
- Take initiative in reviewing, clarifying, and improving school processes and procedures. Work collaboratively with school management and teaching staff to implement operational enhancements.
- Perform other administrative duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by school leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
- Proven ability to lead HR functions and manage cross-functional administrative operations.
- Strong understanding of labor laws, HR policies, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Experience in an academic or special education setting is an advantage.
