The Assistant Interior Designer will provide both technical and creative support to the Head of Design and the broader design team. This role requires strong interior design experience, proficiency in CAD and space planning, and the ability to create polished mood boards and design presentations. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, eloquent, and professional, with excellent communication skills and the ability to translate design concepts into high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Technical Support

  • Support in developing interior design concepts, layouts, and detailed drawings.
  • Apply strong space planning skills to create functional and aesthetic floor plans.
  • Draft and edit design documents using AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Contribute to 3D visualizations and renderings to bring design ideas to life.
  • Stay updated with design trends, finishes, and materials to enhance project concepts.

Presentation & Documentation

  • Create mood boards, design proposals, and client-facing materials.
  • Build professional and visually compelling presentations in PowerPoint and Canva.
  • Translate abstract design direction into clear, polished visual outputs.
  • Maintain organized project files, specifications, and supporting documentation.

Collaboration & Project Assistance

  • Partner with the Head of Design and senior designers on ongoing client projects.
  • Assist with vendor/product research, sourcing, and image library management.
  • Support procurement documentation and material/sample tracking.
  • Attend virtual meetings, take detailed notes, and follow through on action items.
Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education/Background: Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field required.
  • Design Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in an interior design support or design execution role.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong in CAD drafting (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar).
  • Proficiency in space planning and design detailing.
  • Familiarity with 3D rendering tools (preferred).

Creative Skills:

  • Skilled in developing mood boards and visual storytelling.
  • Strong eye for aesthetics, balance, and functionality in design.

Presentation & Communication:

  • Proficient in Canva and PowerPoint for design presentations.
  • Extremely eloquent and strong communicator with excellent written and verbal English.
  • Ability to present ideas confidently with executive presence.
