Olivarez Group of Companies is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Payroll Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Accounting Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations, managing employee records, and performing accounting functions related to payroll. The ideal candidate must possess a solid understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and accounting principles, with a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing:
- Process and compute payroll for employees in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of wages, bonuses, deductions, and reimbursements.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring proper documentation for audits.
- Handle adjustments such as overtime, shift differentials, and attendance-related corrections.
- Compliance & Taxation:
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, including deductions for SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, and income tax, and submit the required contributions on time.
- Prepare government remittance reports and submit to the relevant government agencies.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to payroll laws, tax regulations, and labor codes in the Philippines.
- Accounting & Reconciliation:
- Assist in the preparation of payroll-related financial reports.
- Reconcile payroll accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure proper expense allocation for payroll.
- Employee Inquiries:
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding discrepancies, deductions, or paychecks.
- Provide guidance and clarifications to employees regarding government benefits and other payroll-related concerns.
- Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain payroll records and personnel files for auditing and internal reporting purposes.
- Assist with periodic audits related to payroll.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to HR and Finance departments.
- Other Related Duties:
- Assist in the development of payroll policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the HR team to ensure timely and accurate processing of new hires, terminations, and promotions.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support the payroll and accounting functions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing, accounting, or finance.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or other payroll systems).
- Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws and tax regulations.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting tools.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies and errors in payroll data.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with employees and government agencies.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive payroll information with discretion and professionalism.
- Organizational Skills: Must be able to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines.
