Job description:
The Pre-Sales Engineer is a technical expert who supports the sales team by providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the sales process. They work closely with sales representatives to identify customer needs, demonstrate product capabilities, create and deliver presentations and proposals, and answer technical questions. Their goal is to help close deals by showcasing the value and suitability of the company's offerings.
Responsibilities:
Needs Assessment: Understanding customer business challenges and technical requirements through discovery calls, meetings, and questionnaires.
Product Demonstrations: Preparing and delivering compelling product demonstrations, tailored to specific customer needs and use cases. This often involves customizing demos and addressing specific technical questions.
Technical Presentations: Creating and delivering technical presentations to various audiences, including technical staff, management, and executives.
Proposal Development: Contributing to the technical aspects of proposals, including writing technical sections, defining solutions, and estimating effort.
Solution Design: Working with customers to design solutions that meet their specific requirements, often involving integrating the company's product with existing systems.
Technical Support: Providing technical support to the sales team and customers during the sales cycle. This might include answering technical questions, troubleshooting issues, and providing training.
Product Knowledge: Maintaining deep technical knowledge of the company's products and services, as well as industry trends and best practices.
Sales Collaboration: Working closely with sales representatives to develop sales strategies and close deals.
Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.
Travel: May require travel to customer sites, conferences, and trade shows.
