Labor Relations Manager

Job Description:
- Develop and implement strategies/approaches that lead to fair, balanced decisions and change.
- Leads in the audit on general labor standards and contractualization
- Advises management on contracts, worker grievances, and disciplinary procedures
- Submits DOLE reports as needed, e.g. Establishment Termination, etc.
- Networks with DOLE, Labor Management Associations, Industry partners, etc. for benchmarking purposes and learning on current practices, new legislations affecting the labor sector and other emerging trends
- Educates line managers and employees on Labor laws and Code of Conduct
- Manages complex employee-employer issues
- Updating of Code of Conduct and Discipline as needed
- Regular conduct of business-oriented Partners Meeting (Labor Management Committee) with the Union Lead meetings between management and labor
- Meet with union representative
- Implementation of an open and up-to-date communication machinery
- Resolution of issues and concerns through Line Managers through an effective employee feedback and grievance mechanism
- Implementation of Partnership Programs to enhance union-management relationship
- Manages the preparations and actual negotiations for a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
- Leads in the administration of the CBA to ensure correct and consistent implementation/application
- Proactivity, partnering, collaborative, stakeholder management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Industrial Relations, and other related courses;
- Units/Degree in Industrial Relations an advantage;
- Must have at least 5-year work experience in Labor Relations particularly in CBA negotiations and administration, administrative case/grievance management, Union relations management, DOLE relations management, etc.
- Solid experience in labor laws, company code of conduct and experience in implementing/enforcing and leading due process.
- Preferably with experience as an HR Lawyer
- Communication skills written and oral; importantly, articulation of well thought of and properly planned concepts and ideas in order to educate, enlighten and influence individual and group thinking and discussions. Able to write / craft opinions/points of view, decisions.
- Analytical skills, in sighting periodic step back and review of cases and other org levers (attrition, engagement surveys, etc.), draw up insights and recommendations on areas (process, policies, strategies, ways of working) to address root cause of infractions and other indicators of org effectiveness
