An Assistant Manager of Employee and Labor Relations handles employee grievances, investigates misconduct, and advises management on labor laws and policies. Key responsibilities include mediating disputes, ensuring compliance, implementing employee relations programs, and coaching managers on handling employee issues and disciplinary actions. The role also involves administrative duties like maintaining records and assisting the HR Manager with overall HR operations.

Key responsibilities:

Employee relations and conflict resolution:

  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and complaints.
  • Conduct thorough workplace investigations into issues like misconduct, harassment, or policy violations.
  • Mediate disputes between employees to facilitate fair resolutions.

Guidance and support:

  • Advise management on how to handle employee performance, disciplinary actions, and other sensitive situations.
  • Provide coaching to managers at all levels to address employee behavior and performance.
  • Interpret and apply company policies, employment laws, and collective bargaining agreements to provide guidance.

Compliance and policy:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company in collective bargaining activities, if applicable.

Program management:

  • Develop and implement employee engagement and other HR programs to improve morale and a positive workplace culture.
  • Evaluate the success of new HR programs and initiatives.

Administration and documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all investigations and employee relations matters.
  • Handle administrative duties related to performance management, terminations, and other employee actions.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and labor relations.
  • Very good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and mediating conflicts.
  • Ability to work under pressure and navigate complex situations.
  • A degree in a relevant field like Human Resources, Business Administration, or Law is often required.
  • Possesses very good documentation skills.
  • Willing to work onsite at Ermita, Manila

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Php55,000.00 per month
