Import & On-site Logistics Engineer (Philippines Local Hire) – 1 Positions

Overview

This position is set up by GEDI at the project site in the Philippines to handle front-end logistics work.

Main responsibilities include import customs clearance coordination, port liaison, transportation follow-up, and communication interface with the Philippine owner.

The working language is English, and the role requires communication with the owner, customs brokers, logistics companies, and port authorities.

Transport planning and shipment arrangements from China are handled by the China team, and transport execution is performed by logistics providers. This role is responsible for coordination and follow-up after cargo arrival in the Philippines.

Responsibilities

1. Import Logistics & Customs Clearance Coordination (Philippines)

  • Track cargo shipped from China and confirm ETA, unloading schedules, and logistics status.
  • Coordinate with the owner, customs brokers, port authorities, and logistics providers to ensure smooth clearance, inspection, release, and pick-up.
  • Verify B/L, packing list, invoice, Form E, and other documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Arrange transport to the site once the owner completes customs clearance and tax payment.
  • Represent the Procurement & Logistics team in Philippines logistics coordination and report requirements and issues to the China team.

2. Domestic Transportation Coordination (Philippines)

  • Coordinate land transportation from port to site based on plans handed over by the China team and review logistics providers' transport proposals.
  • Monitor transport progress and report any delays, damages, or shortages.
  • Supervise logistics service quality to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • For oversized cargo, organize route surveys, assess transport risks (roadblocks, turns, slopes, etc.), develop mitigation plans, and supervise logistics providers in obtaining required road permits as per local regulations. (Not applicable for the current project but relevant experience is preferred.)

3. Site Handover & Documentation Management

  • Work with the Site Material Controller to complete cargo handover upon arrival.
  • Organize and archive logistics and customs-related documents for project records and audits.
  • Provide regular logistics progress reports to the Project Manager and the China Procurement & Logistics team.

Requirements

  • Philippine nationality; able to work at project site.
  • English proficiency required.
  • Knowledge of import logistics, customs clearance, and port operations; engineering project experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with owners, customs brokers, and logistics service providers.
  • Proactive, responsible, and capable of independent problem-solving.
