Key Responsibilities:

  1. Load Planning & Optimization

  2. Develop and execute daily and weekly load plans based on order volume, customer demand, and carrier availability.

  3. Optimize trailer space, weight limits, and delivery schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize cost.
  4. Analyze shipment data to reduce empty miles and improve load utilization.

  5. Route Planning & Scheduling

  6. Create and manage transportation routes that ensure on-time delivery and optimal fuel efficiency.

  7. Adjust routes in response to traffic, weather, or carrier delays.
  8. Use routing software or GPS systems to monitor real-time transportation status.

  9. Trucking Coordination

  10. Schedule and dispatch trucks for inbound and outbound shipments.

  11. Communicate with drivers, fleet managers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to confirm pick-up and delivery times.
  12. Monitor driver performance, compliance, and safety standards.

  13. Logistics Strategy & Performance

  14. Develop strategies to reduce transportation costs while maintaining service quality.

  15. Track KPIs such as on-time delivery rate, freight cost per mile, and load utilization.
  16. Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams to streamline end-to-end logistics.

  17. Documentation & Compliance

  18. Prepare and verify shipping manifests, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.

  19. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA, and safety regulations.
  20. Maintain accurate records of shipments, routes, and carrier performance.

  21. Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement

  22. Quickly respond to delays, truck breakdowns, or route changes.

  23. Recommend process improvements in routing, load planning, and carrier management.
  24. Support logistics software upgrades and data-driven decision-making.
Education Requirements

  • Minimum:

  • At least College level

  • Alternative:

  • Equivalent experience in trucking dispatch, route planning, or logistics coordination.

  • Proficiency in TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems or SAP)
