Scope of Work

The Full-Time Engineer will support the Operations team by managing technical service issues across all active sites. They will also be responsible for reviewing technical documentation submitted by EPC partners to ensure system designs are compliant, technically sound, and optimized for performance and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
O&M Issue Monitoring and Resolution

· Monitor, verify, and prioritize all incoming service tickets and performance alerts (hardware/software).

· Perform remote diagnostics where possible; visit sites for physical inspection as needed.

· Verify causes of underperformance, malfunctions, or shutdowns and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Coordination with EPCs

· Liaise with partner EPCs to assign and follow through on site interventions.

· Ensure EPCs are complying with warranty or service obligations and following SunFund ticketing protocols.

· Escalate unresolved or delayed cases to Operations Manager with recommended actions.

Troubleshooting and Technical Reporting

· Conduct independent troubleshooting when EPC delays or capabilities are limited.

· Create concise technical summaries per case, documenting root cause, resolution steps, and performance impact.

EPC Proposal Review

· Review technical proposals submitted by EPCs for residential solar installations.

· Verify completeness of single-line diagrams, component specifications, system sizing, and safety measures.

· Ensure proposed designs follow best practices, comply with SunFund guidelines, and meet applicable codes.

· Provide technical feedback or request revisions from EPCs where necessary.

· Support the Finance and Risk team with technical validations during project approval.

Continuous Improvement

· Provide feedback on recurring technical issues or EPC performance gaps.

· Recommend improvements to O&M workflows, including ticketing, documentation, and EPC accountability.

Qualifications

· Licensed Electrical Engineer or Electronics Engineer (REE or RME preferred)

· Minimum 2 years experience in solar PV installation, technical design review, or operations and maintenance

· Familiarity with residential rooftop PV systems, inverters (e.g., Enphase), and remote monitoring tools

· Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams and site layouts

· Strong communication skills for liaising with EPCs and documenting case status

· Owns laptop and mobile phone with stable internet; willingness to travel occasionally

Deliverables

· Weekly report on active tickets and site statuses

· Documentation logs for each service case handled

· Technical review summary for each EPC proposal reviewed

· Monthly EPC performance summary (if applicable)

· Recommendations on recurring technical issues and service process improvements

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

· % of tickets resolved within SLA (e.g., 5 business days)

· Average time to resolution

· % of EPC proposals reviewed within 2 business days

· Technical accuracy and completeness of documentation

· EPC responsiveness and compliance rates
