Overview

We are looking for a motivated professional with tertiary qualifications in Accounting who can work independently in a remote setup. A strong eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards routine tasks are key to succeeding in this role. The position requires the ability to manage tasks from start to completion with minimal supervision, while also maintaining strong collaboration and communication with managers and colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, confidence in dealing with superiors and clients through calls, online meetings, and emails, and the ability to apply sound reasoning and problem-solving skills. A solid working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero and MYOB is highly valued.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Gather and review all necessary client information before starting work.
  • Handle monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, including recording transactions, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and maintaining the general ledger.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and reconcile intercompany loans and related-party transactions.
  • Identify account variances, escalate or resolve issues, and support year-end financial reporting.
  • Prepare fringe benefits tax returns.
  • Calculate capital gains tax for the disposal of shares, real estate, and other assets.
  • Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts.
  • Prepare Instalment Activity Statements, PAYG-I, and BAS on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Process payroll (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly) including superannuation guarantee contributions.
  • Prepare and complete Xero Workpapers for annual compliance reviews.
  • Liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients regarding debts, lodgments, and payment plans.
  • Work independently while keeping managers updated in a timely manner.
  • Process work in accounting software and compile electronic/manual working papers for review.
  • Prepare detailed working papers, including investment, income, and CGT reconciliations for SMSFs, including those in pension phase.
  • Ensure all queries are resolved before senior staff review.
  • Prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Analyze financial statements to identify errors, inconsistencies, or variances.
  • Complete tax returns in tax software, addressing and correcting discrepancies.
  • Consistently meet performance KPIs and set budgets.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php60, Php70,000.00 per month
