Overall Purpose of The Job:

International SOS is a rapidly growing business with further plans to develop its client and supplier base across the Government Services industry vertical. To successfully respond to a growing demand for medical supplies and services in the public health and humanitarian marketplace it is vital that we have a strong and self-starting entrepreneurial manager with the ability to engage advantageously with Government agencies and (sub)contractors and suppliers to leverage partnerships and to profitably expand on the existing client portfolio of International SOS. The Business Development Manager Asia shall be responsible for driving the International SOS Supply business development agenda and generate new business opportunities with a primary focus on the Asian continent and its public health and humanitarian institutions. Immediate focus will be Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Commercial Director Supply Division, Government Services, the Business Development Manager Asia will be instrumental in growing the International SOS Supply business and perform an integral role to our business acquisition and retention agenda and will actively engage in designing and articulating the value proposition of our International SOS Supply services in relation to the needs of the client or prospect. In collaboration with Government Services leadership, contribute to annual and multi-year business development strategies that leverage International SOS capabilities to identify and win new business opportunities, contributing to financial sustainability across the organization.

Further focus will be put on:

  • Setting the client relationship management and business development priorities based on comprehensive market and competition analysis for the Asia International SOS Supply business in conjunction with the Commercial Director Supply Division, Government Services.
  • Providing leadership to International SOS's strategic growth in the humanitarian and public health sector by supporting efforts to cultivate donor relationships directly with foundations, government institutions and international development banks and indirectly through government subcontractors and/or implementing partners and NGOs.
  • Developing a clear priority and focus framework for International SOS Supply opportunities for the Asian continent. Focussing on key priority countries and finding niche opportunities.
  • Functioning as International SOS Supply POC for all International SOS Supply related inquiries from International SOS colleagues and working closely with the International SOS Supply and in-country sales and leadership teams to leverage partnerships and cross-national collaboration to develop International SOS Supply business opportunities.
  • Identification of relevant RFQ's, analysis of content and execution conditions and RFQ post-mortem reviews.
  • Serving as a 'positioning lead" by developing awareness and preference for International SOS International SOS Supply solutions in government marketplaces through network, communication and education initiatives, and participation and presentation in trade shows and networking events.
  • Providing business development leadership on initiatives that drive the identification and development of new International SOS Supply business with both new and existing Asian Government agencies and NGOs.
  • Fostering and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all other Government Services and Group stakeholders. Be an active participatory member of the Government Services Global community.

Job Profile:

  • Educated to Degree level.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Exposure to working in a cross-border engagement sales environment including previous working experience selling into complex emerging markets.
  • Ability to work successfully with the other functions such as Finance, Operations, Bid Management and Product owners.
  • Ability to demonstrate a proven track record of profitable sales growth.

  • Travel – ability to travel frequently for customer visits

Required Work Experience:

  • At least 5 - 7 years' Experience in managing complex processes and projects with tight deadlines
  • At least 5 – 7 years' Experience in working with government agencies (specifically Ministries of Health), NGOs, development banks and humanitarian actors
  • Exposure to working in a cross-border engagement sales environment including previous working experience selling to emerging markets.
  • Proven experience in business development, bid writing, client management and growing accounts
  • Ability to demonstrate a proven track record of profitable sales growth.
