Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounting Associate to join our finance team. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent college graduate with a degree in Accounting or Finance looking to build foundational experience in a dynamic logistics environment. You will be responsible for critical daily financial operations, including billing, expense management, government compliance (BIR), and key employee financial computations.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing and Accounts Receivable:

  • Prepare and generate accurate and timely client invoices for logistics and services rendered.
  • Coordinate with the Operations team to gather necessary supporting documents for billing.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and assist in follow-ups to ensure prompt payment.

Government Compliance (BIR):

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of relevant Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) forms and reports (e.g., withholding taxes, VAT).
  • Ensure all financial transactions comply with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Maintain organized records for all tax-related documentation.

Expense Management:

  • Review, verify, and process employee expense reports and vendor invoices.
  • Accurately record and track logistics-related expenses (e.g., transportation, utilities, and minor purchases).
  • Assist in the reconciliation of the company bank and credit card statements.'

Employee Financial Computations:

  • Compute and process employee benefits, mandatory contributions (e.g., SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG), and reimbursements.
  • Accurately calculate and process separation pay and final pay (last salary, unused leave conversion) for outgoing employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws.

General Accounting & Support:

  • Perform basic data entry and assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries.
  • Support senior accountants with audits and special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Management Accounting (fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply).
  • Knowledge: Foundational knowledge of Philippine accounting standards and tax regulations (e.g., basic BIR compliance).

Skills:

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Character: Eagerness to learn, proactive attitude, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
