Kitchen Supervisor
Oversees kitchen staff and daily operations, ensuring high standards for food quality, presentation, and safety. Key duties include managing staff, monitoring food inventory and costs, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, enforcing sanitation regulations, and coordinating kitchen workflow to ensure efficient and consistent food service.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Management:
Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising kitchen staff to ensure proper procedures and high performance.
- Quality Control:
Monitoring food preparation, presentation, and consistency to meet establishment standards.
- Inventory & Costs:
Managing food inventory, controlling waste, and assisting with ordering supplies and controlling food costs.
- Hygiene & Safety:
Enforcing food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Operations:
Streamlining kitchen workflow, optimizing preparation and cooking schedules for efficiency.
- Coordination:
Liaising with other staff and departments to ensure timely order fulfillment and a positive customer experience.
- Menu Support:
Assisting with menu planning, recipe standardization, and developing new menu items for special occasions.
- Equipment:
Overseeing the maintenance and proper functioning of all kitchen equipment.
Qualifications
- A diploma, degree, or certificate in culinary arts, food service, or hospitality is beneficial but not always mandatory.
- 3-5 years of experience as a kitchen supervisor, and a strong understanding of food safety and health regulations.
