QA/QC Head

About the role

As QA/QC Head at DM Consunji, Inc., you will lead the quality assurance and control efforts across all phases of construction projects. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a commitment to excellence. You'll ensure that all work meets contractual, regulatory, and safety standards while fostering collaboration among project teams, subcontractors, and clients.

What you'll be doing

Drawing / Design

1. Review and verify as-built drawings for accuracy and completeness
2. Interpret construction plans and specifications
3. Evaluate shop drawings, including ISD (Issued for Site Development) and CSD (Construction Shop Drawings)
4. Review For-Construction Drawings (FCDs) and coordinate their implementation

Quality

1. Prepare and review RFIs (Request for Information), CVIs (Confirmation of Verbal Instruction), and SIs (Site Instructions)
2. Manage submittals and ensure timely review and approval
3. Monitor and close out Non-Compliance Notices (NCNs)
4. Conduct technical evaluations of materials and equipment for procurement
5. Coordinate technical concerns with consultants and ensure resolution
6. Interface MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) works with architectural and interior design scopes
7. Inspect materials delivered on-site for compliance
8. Resolve conflicts between subcontractors or with clients professionally
9. Attend walkthroughs with subcontractors and clients
10. Witness testing and commissioning of M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) systems
11. Prepare inspection checklists and ensure understanding of contract documents
12. Review shop drawings, material submittals, methodologies, and forms prior to client issuance
13. Draft and manage technical correspondence with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and project managers
14. Attend technical coordination and project management meetings
15. Promote high-quality standards to support client satisfaction and repeat business
16. Conduct QA/QC inspections using ISO-compliant forms

17. Lead punch listing prior to project turnover, covering:

    • Structural
    • Plumbing
    • Elevator
    • Architectural
    • Fire sprinkler system
    • Civil works
    • HVAC
    • Fire alarm system
    • Electrical
    • Landscaping
    • Interior finishes

Cost

1. Review and interpret contract documents
2. Identify potential contract variations based on updated instructions or documents from the Owner's Representative

Implementation / Time

1. Prepare pre-construction plans aligned with project scope
2. Coordinate work programs across all disciplines
3. Manage trade contractors and collaborate with designers and owners
4. Prioritize tasks and resolve bottlenecks
5. Plan and execute demobilization programs
6. Assess impact of Project Manager's Instructions and adjust accordingly
7. Prepare turnover documentation for project handover
8. Track, monitor, and close out remaining works

Safety

1. Ensure compliance with project safety programs
2. Implement site-specific health and safety plans
3. Lead toolbox meetings and safety walkthroughs

Specialty

1. Address behavioral issues within the project team
2. Mentor, coach, and motivate QA/QC staff to enhance performance and engagement

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar QA/QC role within the construction industry
2. Thorough understanding of quality assurance principles, methods and tools
3. Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, methods and standards
4. Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills
5. Proficient in project management, data analysis and report writing
6. Ability to lead and motivate a team of QA/QC professionals
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
8. Certifications in quality management, such as ISO 9001 or Six Sigma, would be an advantage
