SOUS CHEF JOB DETAILS
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen supervision
- Oversee kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth operations during service
- Maintain food quality and presentation standards
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage stock rotation
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Train and mentor junior chefs and cooks
- Step in as Head Chef during absences or peak hours
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Sous Chef or similar role
- Proven international work experience (overseas)
- Expertise in Japanese and Brazilian cuisines
- Strong knowledge of food costing and inventory control
- Graduate of Tourism, HRM, and any related course
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification is a plus
- Good communication skills
Typical Work Environment
- Fast-paced kitchens in hotels, restaurants, resorts, cruise ships, or private catering
- Long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Often requires standing for extended periods and working in high-temperature settings
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php50, Php60,000.00 per month
