SOUS CHEF JOB DETAILS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen supervision
  • Oversee kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth operations during service
  • Maintain food quality and presentation standards
  • Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage stock rotation
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Train and mentor junior chefs and cooks
  • Step in as Head Chef during absences or peak hours
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Sous Chef or similar role
  • Proven international work experience (overseas)
  • Expertise in Japanese and Brazilian cuisines
  • Strong knowledge of food costing and inventory control
  • Graduate of Tourism, HRM, and any related course
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification is a plus
  • Good communication skills

Typical Work Environment

  • Fast-paced kitchens in hotels, restaurants, resorts, cruise ships, or private catering
  • Long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Often requires standing for extended periods and working in high-temperature settings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php50, Php60,000.00 per month
