Job Description:

Moderna, a New Italian Restaurant in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, is looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creativity, leadership skills, and a deep appreciation for Italian cuisine. As Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in menu development, kitchen management, and maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning, inventory control, and staff supervision.
  • Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Ensure the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.
  • Develop and test new recipes, incorporating traditional Italian ingredients and techniques.
  • Manage food purchasing, storage, and rotation to minimize waste and maximize freshness.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and a memorable dining experience for guests.
  • Handle special dietary requests and modifications with attention and care.
  • Stay current with culinary trends and best practices, especially within Italian cuisine.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, ideally in an Italian or upscale dining setting.
  • Culinary school degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a kitchen team.
  • Profound knowledge of Italian cooking techniques, ingredients, and dishes.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative culinary skills with attention to detail and presentation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work during weekends, holidays, and various shifts.
