The
Capital Finance Officer
will provide crucial analytical, coordination, and administrative support to the AIC Senior Manager - Capital Financing. This role's primary mission is to ensure the efficient execution of tasks throughout the fund-raising lifecycle, helping to finance the requirements of AIC and its Business Units. The role will play a key role in supporting the team's ability to achieve its financing goals and maintain the company's growth momentum.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying funding requirements by gathering initial data and information through discussions with BU Finance teams, preparing preliminary summaries, and organizing documentation related to potential funding instruments and strategies.
- Support the structuring, negotiation, and execution of funding and trade transactions by preparing initial drafts of tender documents, managing documentation flow for transactions, scheduling meetings, and tracking the overall progress of various financing activities.
- Serve as a key coordinator and project manager for various financing activities. This includes maintaining project schedules, tracking deliverables, facilitating communication among internal groups (such as Corporate Finance, Infra Group, and Sub CFOs) and external parties (including internal and external lawyers, financial arrangers, advisors, third-party advisors, funders, rating agencies, and financial regulatory agencies like SEC, BSP, PDex).
- Aid in managing long-term relationships with local and foreign investment houses, banks, agents/trusts, insurance companies, other financial institutions, and regulatory approvers. This involves assisting in the preparation of relationship review materials, updating contact databases, and scheduling engagement meetings.
- Prepare reports and presentations for the board and relevant committees (e.g., fincom) regarding financing activities. This responsibility encompasses collecting and verifying data, formatting reports, developing presentation slides, and ensuring the accuracy of all submitted materials.
- Provide assistance in post-closing compliance activities for financing. This includes tracking compliance deadlines, gathering necessary documentation for coordinating waivers and consents from funders, and maintaining comprehensive compliance records.
- Facilitate the arrangement of project and corporate requirements from funders and financial institutions, such as preparing requests for bank testimonials and support letters, and managing the communication process to secure these items.
- Support the negotiation and securing of trade requirements like Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs) and bank guarantees by assisting with necessary documentation and follow-up activities.
- Contribute relevant input to internal groups on financing and funding matters by conducting research and gathering data to support appropriate strategies, including project models.
- Support the facilitation of education and development of talent within AIC, which may involve assisting with logistics for training sessions or organizing educational materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA, CA etc.) are a big plus.
- With 3-5 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
- With experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, capital/expenditure planning, experience in asset management and depreciation, project accounting.
- Experience with external reporting, regulatory compliance, audit exposure.
- Analytical thinking; ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
