About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Joinery Draftsman to join our team, working on high-end residential, commercial, and shopfitting projects for the Australian market. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate joinery shop drawings, production documents, and CNC files using the PYTHA 3D CAD software.

This is a key position that requires a strong understanding of Australian building and joinery standards, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with a remote team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and Design:

  • Produce highly detailed and accurate 3D shop drawings for custom joinery projects, including kitchens, wardrobes, cabinets, and architectural joinery, using PYTHA 3D CAD software.

  • Interpret architectural plans, design concepts, and client specifications to create production-ready drawings.
  • Generate cutting lists, materials lists (BOM), and hardware schedules directly from the PYTHA models.

  • Production and Collaboration:

  • Prepare and process files for CNC machining, ensuring all drilling, routing, and cutting data is accurate and optimized.

  • Liaise with project managers, designers, and factory staff (if required) to ensure drawings meet all project requirements and can be manufactured efficiently.
  • Anticipate and resolve technical issues in project execution, providing solutions to potential manufacturing or installation challenges.
  • Manage and organize project files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.

  • Communication and Project Management:

  • Communicate proactively and professionally with the Australian-based client and team, providing regular updates on project progress.

  • Work to project deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Maintain a high level of quality control and accuracy in all work produced.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Joinery Draftsman, with a minimum of [e.g., 3-5] years of experience in the industry.

  • Demonstrable expertise and proficiency with PYTHA 3D CAD software. Experience with other joinery-specific software (e.g., Microvellum, Cabinet Vision) is a plus but PYTHA proficiency is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and high-end residential joinery construction, materials, and hardware.
  • Familiarity with Australian building and joinery standards and best practices.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in creating production-ready drawings and CNC files.
