About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman to join the team, specializing in prefabricated waterproof tile backer systems for Class 2 multi-residential projects. This role involves preparing technical drawings, coordinating with architects, builders, and our factory, and ensuring all bathroom layouts meet compliance and performance requirements under the BCA (Building Code of Australia).

Key Responsibilities

* Plan Overlay & Coordination

* Overlay all bathrooms on GA (General Arrangement) floor plans.

* Cross-check drain positions against hydraulic drawings.

* Draw bathroom outlines and drain positions, based on the largest bathroom for each type.

* Fall & Level Calculations

* Calculate Finished Floor Levels (FFL) based on the longest span from drain to perimeter.

* Ensure all falls are within compliance by checking both long-span and short-span fall ratios.

* Work out and confirm all correct fall ratios within BCA requirements.

* Drafting & Documentation

* Maintain an updated register of bathroom types, numbers, and notes across all units.

* Clearly mark calculated falls, FFLs, and compliance details on drawings.

* Prepare and send technical drawings to the factory for shop drawing production of the Stile Board system.

* Collaboration & Liaison

Liaise with architects and builders to coordinate layouts, resolve discrepancies, and confirm design intent.

* Liaise directly with the factory to communicate technical details, adjustments, and requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting software.

* Solid understanding of

hydraulic plans, floor plans, and wet area compliance.

* Knowledge of BCA requirements for falls to drains and wet area compliance standards.

* High attention to detail, with strong mathematical and technical calculation ability.

* Excellent communication and coordination skills with multiple stakeholders.

* Experience in prefabricated building products, wet area design, or tiling systems (preferred but not essential).
