JOB SUMMARY

The Cost Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cost accounting functions, ensuring accurate cost analysis, inventory valuation and fixed assets valuation. This role supervises cost accountant and collaborates with operations, procurement and solutions design to support strategic decision-making and cost control initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and mentor cost accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate CE preparation and other report preparation.
  • Maintain and analyze standard costs and actual costs of production, inventory, fixed assets and operation.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts, including physical inventory and cycle counts.

·      Prepare cost reports and variance analysis for management review.

  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes related to cost, inventory and fixed assets.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with solutions design and procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support audits and provide documentation related to cost accounting.

·      Develop and implement improvements to cost accounting processes and systems.

MEASUREMENT OF PRODUCTIVITY

·      Timeliness of Cost Reports – 90% submitted on or before deadline

·      Accuracy of Cost Data – 5% or less of adjustments required post-reporting

·      Inventory Reconciliation Efficiency – Monthly 100% accurate inventory reconciliation

·      Budget vs Actual Cost Variance – 10 or less number of significant unexplained variances

·      Process Improvement Initiatives – 1 or more cost-saving initiative proposed and implemented

LOCATION AND WORKING CONDITIONS

She will be assigned to work in the Finance and Accounting Department in Head office on a hybrid setup.
