Job Summary

The Post Closing Auditor is responsible for reviewing closed loan files to ensure compliance with FHA, VA, and company standards. This role involves validating loan documentation accuracy, identifying missing or incorrect information, and ensuring that all post-closing requirements are completed within specified timelines. The position collaborates closely with the insuring and compliance teams to maintain loan quality and operational integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Review loan documents in the Loan Origination System (LOS) to verify completeness and compliance with FHA and VA guidelines.
  • Identify and document any missing signatures, errors, or incomplete items for correction or follow-up.
  • Maintain and update a shared tracking spreadsheet for trailing documents and outstanding requirements.
  • Audit a minimum of 30 loan files per day, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Escalate complex or problematic loans to the insuring team lead or manager for further review.
  • Communicate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and secure required post-closing documents.
  • Support ongoing efforts to improve compliance and quality assurance in the post-closing process.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in loan processing, mortgage auditing, or related functions preferred.
  • Experience with Encompass or other Loan Origination Systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with the loan lifecycle and responsibilities of each department within the mortgage process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify documentation errors or inconsistencies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-departmental coordination.
