About the role
As a Trade Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of trading systems within a dynamic FinTech environment. Your responsibilities will include automating processes, maintaining and monitoring infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to trade execution, connectivity, and performance, and handling incidents to ensure stability and efficiency. This role offers significant opportunities for technical growth and collaboration with a team dedicated to innovation and continuous improvement of the trading infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strive to automate all facets of IT operations as part of the continuous improvement.
- Work with different IT teams in the firm such as Development, Data, Research team with the goal of always improving IT operations.
- Configuration and maintenance of application services using automation tools and CI/CD pipelines that the team will develop and maintain.
- Ensure stability and support of all in scope applications and infrastructure, performing business as usual (BAU) requests and developing/maintaining a run book of operational processes
- Maintain and improve monitoring of the platform and ownership of these tools/dashboards using Prometheus/Grafana and others
- Handling incidents/outages affecting application services up to problem management
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2-5 years of experience as a technical support role within the financial industry specific to Trade support or Securities Settlements.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Shell, SQL).
- Must have fundamental UNIX/Linux knowledge in related work experience with strong command line skills.
- Work experience using cloud providers preferably AWS.
- Work exposure using monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ICINGA, etc.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

- Establishing the root causes of incidents, and only escalating when necessary.
- Ability to analyze software application functionality and suggest improvements.
- Accurate, attention to detail oriented, and able to work in a structured and proactive way.
- Self-motivation and initiative to work independently, as well as part of an international team.
- Ability to work well under pressure, while still delivering a flawless product.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and has the ability to communicate with all levels within the Line of Business.
- Willing to work within standard business hours with possible need to work on a weekend in response to system issues.
