Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, including strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The CFO works closely with the executive team to drive business performance, optimize profitability, and ensure long-term financial sustainability.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.

2. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operations.

3. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and financial regulations.
  • Identify and manage business and financial risks.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.

4. Investment & Capital Management

  • Develop capital structure strategies to support growth.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Manage relationships with investors, lenders, and financial institutions.

5. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to align financial goals with operational plans.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, corporate governance, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, budgeting, and financial systems implementation.
