
Junior Bookkeeper – Work with a Leading US Client

You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the financial health of our organization. You'll be entrusted with maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial statements. We're seeking someone with a passion for accounting, razor-sharp attention to detail, and a proven ability to deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and balance general ledger accounts to ensure financial records are precise and current.
- Verify transaction accuracy and reconcile discrepancies to uphold financial integrity.
- Prepare financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Prepare and file tax returns and government reports to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Manage bank and credit card reconciliations to account for all financial transactions.
- Maintain an organized accounting filing system for easy access and recordkeeping.
- Provide support to the Accounting Manager to help achieve financial goals.
Lease Accounting Focus
A significant portion of the Bookkeeper's responsibilities will involve Lease Accounting principles, including:
- Lease contract analysis: Assessing contracts to determine capitalization eligibility.
- Calculating lease liabilities and assets: Computing present value of lease payments for proper recording.
- Allocating lease payments: Separating payments into interest expense and asset amortization.
- Preparing lease disclosures: Crafting required disclosures for financial statements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, with at least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Strong grasp of accounting principles and procedures; proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks or Xero.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with strong communication skills to ensure financial clarity.
- Must be available for onsite work during the graveyard shift.
