What are we looking for?

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering enterprise-grade communication solutions
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, 8x8, and Azure Communication Services
  • Strong experience with telephony integration, SIP trunking, direct routing, and meeting room systems
  • Vendor certifications in UC platforms are highly regarded
  • Strong PowerShell scripting or similar automation experience
  • Working knowledge of security and compliance standards related to communications (e.g., privacy, identity, encryption)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with Australian privacy standards is an advantage

What will you do?

Unified Communications Architecture & Delivery

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of unified communication solutions across platforms
  • Deploy and maintain Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and hybrid meeting room setups
  • Oversee voice infrastructure, SIP routing, call flows, and direct routing architecture
  • Ensure communication systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for user experience

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with cross-functional teams across IT infrastructure, security, and end-user support
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Provide training, support, and change management initiatives to drive adoption of UC tools

Performance & Risk Management

  • Monitor and analyse UC platform performance, uptime, and user experience metrics
  • Maintain licensing, identity management, and cost optimisation for UC environments
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specs, diagrams, and support material
  • Manage risks, maintain project plans, and document system changes

Mentorship & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as a thought leader and mentor for UC technologies within the broader engineering team
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the communications and collaboration space
  • Propose and implement improvements that drive business outcomes and productivity
