Software Engineer - L3 SupportWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer - L3 Support to join our dynamic and exciting engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Linux and open source software, with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to troubleshoot and fix complex technical issues.
This role involves working on critical issues in the open source stack, requiring upstream bug fixes. Our engineers work productively at any level of the stack, including the kernel, and in a wide range of languages to understand and address software issues.
The successful candidate will have:
- Exceptional academic qualifications and background in Computer Science or similar
- Experience with Linux and open source software
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux
- A drive to learn unfamiliar technology and deep-dive into difficult issues
Responsibilities:
- Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software
- Maintain close working relationships with field, support and product engineering teams
- Participate in upstream communities and develop bug fixes, backport patches, and work with upstream for inclusion
- Review code produced by other engineers and demonstrate good judgment in technical methods and techniques
You will be responsible for resolving complex customer problems, maintaining close working relationships with various teams, participating in upstream communities, and developing bug fixes and patches.
