The Role

As a
Financial Analyst
, your work involves strategizing where and how to gather the right information, processing a wide range of information, developing and maintaining various spreadsheets, analyzing financial information to come up with forecasts, and preparing relevant summary tables, reports, charts, presentation decks and/or division-level or department-level budgets or rolling expectations, all towards the goal of supporting planning and performance management with data.

How you'll contribute

  • Develop and regularly update the report on Key Business Drivers for RBS Senior Management use.
  • Regularly update the Monthly Expectations ("MoEx") files based on latest available actuals and expectations to come up with ADB volume projections for the remainder of the year as well as succeeding years.
  • Assist in and contribute to the preparation of the Segment Financial Performance Update / Business Review decks, through the provision of reports which serve as inputs to the latter as well as the conduct of ad hoc reports / investigations whenever necessary.
  • Perform Variance Analysis and Validations on the Operating Expenses ("OPEX") of the various units under Retail Banking Segment, watching out for abnormal trends and checking on illogicalities, raising mispostings to the appropriate teams and whenever necessary, help prepare adjusting entries to rectify them.
  • Create and maintain working templates that translate and convert Consumer Loan Business targets / quotas (i.e. number of applications and booked volume) into other meaningful drivers that are linked to / relevant for Operations / Support teams to likewise be able to peg and measure their performance against budget.
  • Keeps abreast of applicable audit standards and helps implement measures to uphold compliance and prevent findings. Ensures that the necessary actions are taken to resolve issues or gaps arising from audits in a timely manner
  • Aid in the updating of the Profitability Models as the Senior Business Analysts' back-up.

What we're looking for

  • Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accountancy or Banking.
  • Should have at least 1-4 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of Accounting and Finance Concepts. Analytical Ability.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadline
  • Ability to explain financial jargon or complex industry language in simple terms, problem solving,
  • Keen to details and notices discrepancies/ inconsistences/ abnormal trends/ illogicalities/ interpersonal skills, with passion to learn and grow
