Be part of our client's team as a Construction Financial Analyst and take charge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for high-value projects. You will analyze financial performance, support reporting, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate financial decisions, helping shape landmark construction developments worldwide.

Qualifications That Set You Up for Success

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Experience

• 2-5+ years of experience in financial analysis, project accounting, construction finance, or related roles
• Experience with construction budgets, cost control, and project reporting preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, models) and financial analysis
• Familiarity with construction ERP or project management systems (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300, JD Edwards, CMiC)
• Knowledge of GAAP, job cost accounting, or cost management principles

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail and high accuracy
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred Certifications (Optional)

• Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP)
• Certified Cost Professional (CCP)
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• CPA or CMA (for more accounting-heavy roles)

Your Key Responsibilities in a Snapshot

Financial Planning & Budgeting

• Develop, maintain, and update project budgets with project management and construction teams
• Prepare cost-to-complete forecasts and cash-flow projections for active projects
• Analyze bid proposals, estimates, and change orders for financial impact

Cost Control & Reporting

• Monitor project expenditures and job cost data (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors)
• Conduct variance analysis and communicate findings to project managers and leadership
• Support monthly project reporting, including Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and revenue recognition
• Track committed costs and ensure timely accruals and cost allocations

Project Performance & Risk Analysis

• Evaluate financial performance indicators, such as earned value, productivity, and cost efficiency
• Identify risks, deviations, and opportunities for cost savings or margin improvement
• Assist in developing mitigation or optimization strategies for project teams

Data Management & Systems

• Maintain accurate financial records within ERP or project management systems (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint, Sage, Oracle Primavera)
• Build and improve analytical dashboards and reporting tools
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and contract requirements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with operations, procurement, and accounting to reconcile data and provide insights
• Support internal and external audits related to construction financials
• Participate in project review meetings and provide finance-driven recommendations
