The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control of construction projects. This includes preparing detailed quantity take-offs, evaluating subcontractor bids, preparing progress billings, monitoring project costs, and ensuring the project is completed within budget and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and bill of quantities (BOQ) from architectural and engineering plans.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to ensure cost efficiency in project execution.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules.
  • Evaluate and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations to determine the most cost-effective options.
  • Prepare and monitor budget forecasts, cash flow projections, and cost control reports.
  • Review and certify progress billings, variation orders, and change requests.
  • Conduct site visits to verify quantities and assess actual progress.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Procurement, and Finance teams regarding project cost and budget matters.
  • Ensure compliance with Philippine construction laws, standards, and contract terms.
  • Prepare final accounts and project cost summaries upon project completion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
  • Preferably a Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC).
  • With 2–5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost control, or estimation within the construction industry.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and costing software.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and materials.
  • Knowledgeable in local construction methods, labor rates, and market prices in the Philippines.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in quantity take-offs and cost estimation.
  • Strong cost management and budgeting capability.
  • Proficiency in Excel and cost estimation software.
  • Integrity and transparency in financial reporting and cost control.
  • Good understanding of contract management and variation procedures.
