Accounting Officer

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to manage financial transactions, ensure accurate record-keeping, and uphold compliance with Philippine tax laws. This role includes overseeing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), tax filings, invoice and check processing, and supporting audits and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, analytical, and capable of delivering precise and efficient finance-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Accurately process and verify supplier invoices in a timely manner.
• Ensure vendor payments are made according to agreed-upon schedules.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain purchase orders (POs), contracts, and payment schedules.
• Enforce compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Issue accurate customer invoices based on contracts and terms.
• Monitor outstanding payments and follow up with customers.
• Reconcile customer accounts and prepare aging reports.
• Record payments promptly and accurately in the system.

Tax Compliance

• Prepare and file VAT, withholding, and income tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws and BIR regulations.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing complete and accurate documentation.
• Stay informed on changes to tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

Invoice & Check Preparation

• Generate invoices with correct pricing and terms.
• Prepare checks for payments and reimbursements.
• Verify supporting documentation for all disbursements.
• Coordinate check-related transactions with banks.

Other Duties

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, etc.).
• Support audit processes and ensure compliance with financial requirements.
• Maintain well-organized and accurate financial records.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in AP, AR, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
• Audit experience is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or Oracle.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas).
• Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and experience with ERP systems.

• Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical capabilities.
• Highly organized with excellent time-management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
