About the Role

The Data Platform Head is responsible for ensuring the consistent operational performance of the Enterprise Data Group (EDG) systems — including data storage, ETL/ELT, ingestion pipelines, dashboards, machine learning environments, and APIs. This role leads the team managing day-to-day operations, ensuring systems meet uptime SLAs, adhere to enterprise architecture standards, and continuously improve capacity and performance.

You will oversee the organization's data infrastructure, guide platform strategy, and ensure the reliability and scalability of all enterprise data platforms. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of enterprise data management.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure all data platforms consistently meet SLAs for uptime, performance, and service availability.
  • Lead support teams in managing production systems and implementing fixes or enhancements.
  • Coordinate with end-users to ensure platforms meet business expectations.

Governance & Delivery

  • Oversee operational readiness reviews for new data projects and deployments.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and enterprise architecture standards.

Capacity & Performance Management

  • Monitor system capacity, utilization, and performance.
  • Forecast future capacity needs and recommend upgrades or optimizations.
  • Implement improvements to data models, capacity plans, and infrastructure design.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Drive enhancements to operational processes based on metrics and feedback.
  • Lead internal innovation initiatives for advanced data use cases.
  • Prepare and present operational performance reports to leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (advanced certifications preferred).
  • 5–10 years experience managing enterprise data platforms and operational systems.

  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Data integration, modeling, and architecture

  • Hadoop technologies
  • SQL and Unix/Linux scripting
  • Reporting/BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos)
  • Understanding of ITIL and operations best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
