Job description:

An IT Specialist is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of an organization's computer systems, networks, and technology infrastructure. This role includes supporting hardware, software, and networking needs, as well as troubleshooting technical issues. The IT Specialist works closely with other departments to address technology-related challenges and implements new systems or upgrades to enhance the company's technological capabilities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Maintain and monitor internal networks, servers, and IT infrastructure.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights on the network.
  • Monitor system performance and security, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Manage backups and recovery processes to prevent data loss.
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems and software applications.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, anti-virus software, and encryption.
  • Assist in planning, designing, and implementing IT projects to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to assess technological needs and propose solutions.
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, security status, and IT projects.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new software, systems, and security practices.

Qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years' work experience as an IT Specialist or similar role
