About the Role

We're looking for a Cloud Support Engineer to join our growing DevOps Team. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of BGL's cloud systems during out-of-hours operations. You'll handle incident response, monitor AWS environments, and collaborate closely with our DevOps team to implement production changes and drive continuous improvement in our infrastructure and processes.

This role requires availability to work on a night shift schedule to support our global operations and maintain 24/7 system reliability.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to incidents and support requests across AWS environments
  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and escalate issues when necessary
  • Monitor system performance, uptime, and alerts using monitoring tools
  • Perform environment patching, updates, and documentation
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team for daily reviews, training, and task assignments
  • Enhance the alerting system to reduce unnecessary alerts
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, tools, and operational processes

What You'll Bring

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS) and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting
  • Experience supporting Java/Spring Boot applications
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, L3/L4 protocols)
  • Willingness and ability to work during night shift hours

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK)
  • Good understanding of IT security, application monitoring, and Agile methodologies
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
