We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our Digital Solutions Team based in Manila.

Reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Lead, you'll play an important role in developing high-quality investment implementation software. The team currently includes a Lead, Software Engineers, and a QA Engineer, with further growth planned.

You'll be involved in all stages of the software development life cycle—from requirements gathering to cloud deployment. Many projects are greenfield, giving you the chance to shape system architecture and design.

bfinance follows an Agile development process, focusing on efficient delivery and continuous improvement.

• Transitioning from segregated systems to an integrated solution
• Migrating to a new platform using modern, best-in-class technologies

• Delivering new services and enhancing existing ones in areas such as:

• Business process automation

• Data acquisition and integration
• Data analytics (including AI/ML)
• Dashboards and reporting

As part of a small, agile team, you'll collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders and gain exposure to a wide range of projects—including those involving AI and machine learning.

Strong communication skills, self-management, and comfort working with a distributed international team are key to success. Some overlap with the UK team (at least two hours daily) will be required.

All interviews are conducted remotely, and a work-from-home setup is encouraged for now.

• Collaborate with the London-based Digital Solutions team to design and deliver software solutions
• Develop both client-side and server-side architectures
• Build responsive and visually appealing front-end applications
• Write secure, efficient APIs and ensure robust data protection
• Test, debug, and enhance software for performance and security
• Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation
• Work with internal users (e.g., the investment research team) to improve software usability
• Stay updated with modern web development trends and technologies

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals—Algorithms, Data Structures, OOP, Software Patterns, and APIs
• At least 3 years of experience in Software Engineering
• Proven full-stack web development experience delivering production-ready applications
• Strong backend development skills in Python (Django, DRF preferred)
• Advanced proficiency with TypeScript, React, and related tools
• Familiarity with CSS pre-processors and bundlers
• Experience with Agile development and Continuous Integration (CI)
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and commitment to quality
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
