As the Senior Merchandising Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire merchandising function, while also training and assisting the Merchandising Manager to drive departmental success. This is a crucial leadership role that requires you to be both a strategic leader and a hands-on mentor. You will guide the team in making key decisions on product selection, pricing, and promotion to maximize sales and overall profitability. Your role is to elevate the department's performance by providing expert guidance, refining processes, and ensuring merchandising strategies align with broader company goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly assist and mentor the Merchandising Manager by providing guidance, performance coaching, and support to enhance their skills in purchasing, negotiation, and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the team in developing and executing the overall merchandising strategy, ensuring the product assortment is attractive, based on market trends, meets customer demands, and company objectives.
  • Develop, manage, and are fully accountable for the departmental budget, ensuring all actions contribute to maximizing revenue growth and profitability by controlling costs and optimizing pricing.
  • Manage and maintain key supplier relationships, and lead high-stakes negotiations on pricing, terms, and agreements.
  • Direct and optimize the entire inventory management process, from forecasting demand to managing stock levels and implementing effective markdown strategies.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to drive effective merchandising decisions.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Sales, and Warehouse teams to ensure merchandising strategies are aligned with promotional campaigns and overall business objectives.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks related to procurement, such as supply chain disruptions or quality issues.
  • Prepare and present detailed performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a Merchandising or Buying role, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring or coaching junior managers or team members.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain high-level vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of managing budgets and driving profitability.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Amenable to work from Monday – Friday in Parañaque City.
