Sous Chef

The Sous Chef acts as the second-in-command in the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in maintaining food quality, consistency, and smooth kitchen operations. This role helps lead the BOH team, oversees daily preparation and service, and ensures that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu execution, food preparation, and service coordination.
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure all stations are operating efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, portioning, taste, and presentation.
- Oversee inventory levels, monitor wastage, and support ordering of supplies.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Lead the kitchen team during the Head Chef's absence.
- Train, mentor, and support new and existing team members.
- Manage daily prep lists and ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Work with the FOH team to ensure smooth communication and service flow.
- Uphold consistency, cleanliness, and organization across the kitchen.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar culinary leadership role.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, cooking techniques, and food safety.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Must be flexible, reliable, and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Culinary school background is a plus, but not required.
