Job Title: Sous Chef

Reports to: Head Chef / Executive Chef

Key Responsibilities:


• Assist the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow.


• Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen assistants.


• Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and consistency.


• Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and costing.

• Maintain inventory levels, monitor food stock, and ensure proper storage.


• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.


• Monitor portion control and minimize food waste.


• Step in to lead the kitchen during the Head Chef's absence.


• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

Qualifications:


• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a restaurant or hospitality setting.


• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations.


• Leadership and team management skills.


• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.


• Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred.


• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
