
Trade Development Specialist

GENERAL PURPOSE: Reporting to the ASM under the General Trade Department, the TDS manages actual sales operations and implements business strategies by planning, leading, organizing and controlling the performance of the appointed Retail Trade Managers to achieve the goals and objectives set by JS Unitrade.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary Duties and Responsibilities
A. Planning
- Manages and ensures profit and growth of business of the appointed Retail Trade Managers. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve sales and earnings. Review and analyze efficient and effective coverage of the Retails Trade Managers.
- Know and determine the business size of the given territory. Strategically plan business improvement of Retail Trade Managers by conducting environmental scanning and analysis, outlet visit and trade monitoring.
- Review and analyze efficient and effective coverage of Retail Trade Managers.
- Plan appropriate sales promotions, trade activations and present business strategies to guarantee its growth in the assigned territory.
- Plan and monitor JSU/Distributor-initiated programs/promo, and ensure proper documentation and evaluation.
B. Leading
- Set directions with his appointed Retail Trade Managers by instituting objectives and standards aligned with JS Unitrade Vision, Mission, and Commitments, strategies, sales directions, and Key Results Areas (KRA).
- Lead the team of Retail Trade Managers in the area in achieving the distribution strategies set by JSU in terms of volume, distribution, lines sold, calls productivity and new store openings.
- Develop the skills and potential of the Retail Trade Managers through proper identification of one's strengths and weaknesses, formulation of development plans and conduct of appropriate training to improve performance and achieve the organization's objectives.
C. Organizing
- Conduct sales and operational meetings to address issues and concerns that need to be resolved and provide feedback to immediate superior.
- Coordinate regularly with the Retail Trade Managers by reviewing and updating their territory performance and implementation of plans and programs.
- Adherence to the Master Coverage Plan.
D. Controlling
- Directly responsible to the monitoring of Pull-Out Volume of Retail Trade Managers to the Distributor and to ensure compliance to Inventory Load requirements.
- Conduct territorial audit and prepare Field Check Report/Availability Mapping to verify availability of new products placement, Retail Performance Standards (RPS), pricing, merchandising, competitive activities, BO monitoring and route coverage.
- Conducts random audit of quality and freshness of all products in the Retail Trade Managers Truck.
- Review the submitted weekly reports (i.e. Stock Withdrawal Invoice and Daily Sales Reports) of Retail Trade Managers and prepare recommendations to immediate superior regularly to ensure implementation of business plans.
- Conducts regular audit and inspection with regards to status of company issued vehicles, inventory, capital exposure and any related merchandising materials provided by JS Unitrade.
- Ensures prompt submission and accurate posting on his/her Monthly Expense Reports.
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned by immediate superior from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's/College Degree, Business Administration / Management, Marketing or Equivalent
- At least 2 to 3 years of working experience in Sales in an FCMG Company
- Preferably assigned and handled the General Trade Business.
- Have good Sales Negotiation / Market and Customer Development / Business Process Development / Customer Engagement skills
- Preferably based in Central Luzon / Northern Luzon
- Must be flexible with work assignment and territory
