Accounts Payable Assistant

Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for managing and processing all incoming invoices and payments, ensuring that a company's financial obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Payment Processing: Schedule and process payments, ensuring timely disbursements according to company policies.
- Expense Coding: Assign proper general ledger codes to invoices and expense reports to ensure accurate bookkeeping.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies with vendors or internal departments.
- Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors regarding payment statuses, discrepancies, and general inquiries.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions, including invoices, payment records, and other supporting documents.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of accounts payable transactions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in the accounts payable workflow and recommend solutions.
Key Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in an accounts payable or general accounting role.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office applications.
- Good communication skills for dealing with vendors and internal teams.
- Problem-solving abilities for resolving payment discrepancies.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
