A Logistics Delivery Associate is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers. This role involves loading, transporting, and dropping off items in a safe and professional manner. Delivery associates play a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain process, acting as the final point of contact between a company and its customers.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations

  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles with packages, ensuring all items are correctly sorted and secured for transport.
  • Following planned delivery routes to meet delivery deadlines efficiently.
  • Communicating with customers to confirm delivery times, addresses, and to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Using a handheld device or delivery app to track packages, scan items, and collect proof of delivery (e.g., signatures, photos).
  • Handling cash or electronic payments when required.

Vehicle & Package Managament

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle.
  • Handling packages with care to prevent damage during transit.

Customer Service

  • Providing excellent customer service by being polite, professional, and helpful during all interactions.
  • Addressing store questions and concerns in a friendly and efficient manner.

Secondary Responsibilities

Order Fulfilment & Packaging

  • Order Verification: Verify that all items in an order match the packaging slip or digital order manifest. This involves cross-referencing product codes, quantities, and descriptions to prevent shipping errors.
  • Quality Control: Perform checks to verify that the items in each package match the order form and that all products are in good condition.
  • Packaging: Safely and securely package items, choosing appropriate boxes and packaging materials to prevent damage during transit. This includes void fill, bubble wrap, and other protective measures.
  • Secure Packaging: Select the appropriate packaging materials (boxes, envelopes, bubble wrap, void fill) and pack items securely to prevent damage during transit.
  • Efficiency: Optimize the packaging process to maximize efficiency and meet daily packing targets without compromising quality.
  • Labeling: Accurately print and affix shipping labels, tracking numbers, and any special handling instructions to packages.
  • Staging: Organize and stage prepared packages in a designated area for easy pickup by delivery drivers, ensuring the correct orders are loaded onto the right vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in a delivery or logistics role is often preferred but not always necessary.

Skills:

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use GPS and navigation apps.
  • Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected delivery challenges.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Familiarity with local area or assigned delivery zone is a plus.
  • Updated NBI for any possible Ingress/Egress manpower support.
